Oscar was born in 1986 in Darién province, not far from where the Canopy Camp is located today. He still lives in the Darién, with his wife Sara Gonzales and their two daughters Hilary and Jhomary, where he works as a farmer and rancher and is also a qualified electrician. He was first hired by the Canopy Family in 2018 as a driver, but he soon developed a love for the local birds. Now, at a meteoric speed, Oscar has become an accomplished local guide. Oscar truly loves his job, and his infectious enthusiasm for natural history is obvious. The Canopy Family is fortunate to have him in the Darién, where his local knowledge is invaluable.
